Greymouth, September 5. | At a meoting of the Midland Railway League this evening, a resolution was passed that the Government be requested to arrango conditions by way of a three per cent Guarantee in exchange for the land grant.
SUPPOSED INFANTICIDE.
(united press association,) Cuhistouurcii, September 5, Sophia Jones, 1G years of age, servant, at tho Heathcote Arms Hoto was arrested on suspicion of hein tho mother of tho newborn bab whoso body was found in the Heath cote. She was brought up at th Resident Magistrate's Court, and re manded to Friday. The inquest oi tho child has been adjourned for' week, No evidence has yet beei offered in tliocnse.
