Taratahi-Carterton Road Board.
The ordinary monthly meeting of the above Board was held on Saturday last. Present-Messrs H. R, Bunny (Chairman), Win. Miller, J. Kayner, G. W. Duller, W. B. Allen, B. Morgan, H. -Ilraitliwaite, B, W, Dorset and Jas. Stevens, The minutes of the previous meet' ing wero rend and.confirmed, The Treasurer reported a debit balance of of £01919s Id. COR-BBSrOHDENCB INWARDS, From Messrs Booth, re road to their property, Belvedere.—Left in the hands of the Warden to report at the next meeting of the Bjard. From Seoretaiy Dalefield Dairy Company, requesting permission to lay a drain alongside of the road.— Resolved, that the Board would offer no objection to tbo request of the Company, From Colonial Treasurer, re a further grant of £250 lor the bridge and roads at Kokatau, requesting to be furnished with particulars as to the expenditure ot the loan already advanced.
From D, Cameron respecting repairs to road from Gladstone to Wainuioru.—Left in tho hands of tho Wardens for No 8 Ward, From settlers of Dalefield and Belvedere, complaining of the state of the roads.—Resolved that nothing could be done until the dry weather set in. From Hawera Road Board, asking co-operatiou in urging the Government to continue the subsidies to local bodies as heretofore.—The Board fully endorsed the request, DEPUTATION, Messrs Oates and Zabell waited on tho Board, and their grievances were loft in the bands of the Wardens for their respective wards. EAST COAST ROAD. On the motion of the Chairman it was resolved to cull a meeting of ratepayers in respect to a proposed road on tbo East Coast, on the 27th inst,
HEAVY THAFFJO. I A long discussion look place about tho heavy traffic on the roads, and it was resolved loaektho County Council to alter the by-law in respect to the matter so as to include tho traction engines. WAIOIIINE BRIDGE. It was resolved tliat Mr King be requested to urge upon Mr Dawson the necessity of getting on with the ro-plankingof the Waiohine bridge, us it was becoming dangerous for traffic ACCOUNTS.
