CASTLEPOINT ROAD BOARD.
A meeting of the Board was held on Saturday last. Present,—Messra Maunaell (Ohairman), Langdon, Elder and Andrew, The minutes of the previous mooting were read and confirmed,
The Treasurer reported the credit lalance in the bank to be i'CO 15s 9d.
■ Letters wero read from Mr CJevins, applying on behalf of Messrs Williams and Beetham for a loan under the Local Bodies Loans Act, of £3OO to make a deviation in ihe road betweon Manawa and Annedale; From County Clerk asking if the Board would make a grunt in aid for maintenance of the County roads for the current year, From same re subsidy due on general rates; From Commissioner of Taxes, re alteration of action in Waitawhili property; From Chairman Awatere Road Board, with petition re subsidy being maintained.
I Resolved,—That the Chairman be authorised to sign the petition from the Awatere Road Board ; That the application from the County Council be postponed until next meeting; That public notice be given of the Board's intention to strike a rate of {d in the £ ; That tenders be called
for breaking 80 yards of metal at Langdale; That notice of immediate payment be given to all defaulting ratepayers; That Mr Beetham be asked to stale sections to be rated for the loan.
Accounts amounting to £lO Is 2d were passed for payment and the meeting adjourned.
