The cases of cholera reported in Paris are believed to be of tbo true Asiatio type, though the authorities declare them to be only nostras, • The rumour that the epidemic bad broken out in Berlin is confirmed, and the disease lias also reached Amsterdam. A seaman who arrived from Hamburg has died at Dundas, in Canada. Thirteen cases are reported in Bremen, and one has proved fatal. A physician to the Czar of Russia has died from cholera. A case of suspected cholera is reported from Swansea. August 30, Cholera is decreasing in Russia, Hamburg and Altona, but has appeared at Halle, I'erver, Slricgurt, Leipsic, Bolton and North Shields. A Polish immigrant and also an English girl, uro m a London hospital suffering from cholera. The Glasgow patients are recovering.
Dr Koch, in his report on the outbreak in Hamburg, severely condemns tho insanitary condition of the city.
It is unofficially estimated that the number of deaths in Hamburg since the first appearance of cholera is 2400.
The shipping companies aro refusing to take emigrants from infectei ports.
Two more Hamburg immigrants Lave developed cholera at Gravesend, and four Russian immigrants at Liverpool are down with it. Mr H. H. Fowler, President of the Local Government Hoard, lus issued an order preventing filtliy and unwholesome immigrants landing in the United Kingdom unless they can pass a satisfactory examination made by the sanitary officials. Berlin, 30th August. Blaokxpox has appeared in Hamburg.
