THE GUV'NOR AT GREYTOWN.
The three-net farcioal oomody entitled "TheGuv'nor," was produced last night at tho Greytown Falnce Hall, by a unmoor of Greytown tolk, in aid of tho Greytown Yolunieer Fiio Brigade funds. There was a very good attendance, oousideringtheinclemoncy of tho weather. At about half pait seven Mr S. J. Lewis sent up [ a large balloon of bis own uianufat* Jure, wbioh went completely out of Bight, from the balcony of tho Hall. In the first act the scene was the lawn and gardens of Mr Butterscotch's residence, Cranberry Villa; in the second the interior of Old Macclesfield's boat shed and residence; and tbo third the dining-room of Mr Dutteisootcbe's residence. The Greytown Orchestral Society discoursed sweet musio during tho intervals, The get-up of the perfor- % mers was splendid, ai was their acting. The following was the cast of characters:— Mr Butterscotch, a retired confectioner, Mr Wyatt; Freddy, his son, of the Ilex Bowing Club, Mr T. Haycock; Theodore Macclesfield, Boat Builder, Mr D.J. Duff; Theodore, his son, student at Guys, Mr A. G. Thompson; Jellicoe, a retired Pickle Manufacturer, Mr P. Merson; Cabby No 8409, Driver of
Four-wheeler, Mr W. C. Nation ; 4Gregory, A Yorkshire Groom out of Livery, Mr J. K. Hornblow; Vellum, of Vellum and Vellum, solicitors, Mr W. C. Nation; The MoToddy, a Gentleman of Ulenmutchkin, Mr S, Jnnsen; Cantle, a ceivant of Buticrscotch, llrS.Jansen; Ullage, butler to Butterscotoh, Mr H. Madsen; Gunnel, Waterman in Macclesfield's Yard, Mr S. Jansen; Aurelia, second wife to Butterscotch, Miss Jacobs; Kate, his daughter by first marriage, Miss M. Bruuton; Barbara, housemaid to Butterscotch, Miss M. Skeet; Mrs Macclesfield, Miss H. Skeet; Carrie, Boatbuilder's daughter, Miss G, Haycock; Susan, Gregory's sister, Mr J. Montgomery. Mr D. J. Duff undertook to ffork tho affair up, and did so wiht great credit to himself and the performers, ill day yesterday a clown was riding through tho streets and by-lanes, ringing a bell. His mount was a email pony, decorated with ribbons, etc, and bearing a notice attached to the saddle, reminding the people that
" Tho Governor was coming to-night." hope the Greytown folks will soon give such another treat us was that of last night, and that the Brigade will havo cleared a good amount to onable them to pay off the liability on their engine,
