It provided, he suid, for the inspection of scaffolding used in the construction of buildings, which was a necessary precaution, seeing the large number of nccidents which had occurred through insecure scaffolding. BANKRUPTCY BILL. This Bill was further considered in committee,—Clause 120 wbb amended by the insertion of a provision that in preference claims for rent where the ofßcial assignee and landlord could not agree as to the amount, it should bo decided by'the Bankruptcy Court. —The Minister for Labour, who was in charge of the 'Bill, proposed to amend clause 122 by increasing the amount which creditors may give tack to a bankrupt from £SO to £IOO,on the voices,—Subsection 2 £rclause 82, "when bankrupt has assigned to trustees for benefit of creditors, their acts validated," was struck tut by consent of the Minister in charge,—Mr Meredith moved the insertion of a new clause providing that the Court may appoint a bankrupt assignee ol his own estate.—The clause was inserted on a division by 23 to 8.
