Deputation to the Commissioners. A deputation, consisting of Mr Buchanan, M.H.R., Mr Stuckey, of Rangitumau, and Mr George Beeiham, waited on the Railway (Jomrnissioners yesterday morning to urge the desirability ot reducing the railway rates on entire horses and brood mares during the breeding season, so as to encourage the breeding of a better class of animal. Mr Hercock, of Carterton, an extensive breeder of horses, was to have been one of the deputation, but through a misunderstanding he was not present, and after discussing the object of the deputation, the Commissioners, at the request of the gentlemen present, agreed o postpone their decision until he had an opportunity of communicating his Views by letter,
