MrF. H.Wood held his usual fork nightly stock sale at tbe Taratalu yards yesterday, and reports of tbe same us follows ;
Considerably moro slock came forward than had been advertised, and tbe attendance of buyers was very large, Bidding was fairly spirited throughout the sale. Four pens of alieep were passed in as not reaching the owners' reserves, but. these were so|d privately afterwards. Prices for both sheep and puttie were about equal to last sale rates and are quoted as follows | - Bbeep >, Hoggelß, 10s 9d; ewes in lamb, 0s to 10s 4d ] 2-tooth wethers, 11a 4d to 13s; forward store wethers, 13s to 13s Cd. Cattle; Calves, 245; yearlings, 31s; empty heiters, COs; heifers in calf (small), 755; dairy cows, 80s to 1075"4P Cd. Horses: Medium draughts, £&*r to £l7los, Stock of all classes was in good demand and far in excess of supply.
