WAIRARAPA HOSPITAL BILL.
The Measure Thrown Out [nV TELEGRAM—ntEBS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Friday. In the House of Representatives yesterday the debate on tho Wairarapa Hospital District Bill was resumed by Mr Buchanan, who adduced a number of argument? in favour of the proposed severance of Wairarapa from Wellington in matters of Hospital and Charitable Aid, After remarks from Mr W. 0. Smith and Mr MoLean, the Hon. Minister for Education said this was a most pernicious Bill, the thin end of the wedge, that would result in the treaking up of the present system of Hospital and Charitable Aid throughout the Colony. Mr R. Thompson and Mr Houston supported the Dill for that very reason, A division was called for when tho second reading was lost by 25 votes against 22, On tho questiou that the Bill be read a second time that day six months, . another division was taken, when the fr motiop was carried by 26 tp 23. Tup '' Bill was thuß thrown out,
