directory for 1892-93, dealing with the whole provincial district, is dow to band, and contains between three and four hundred separate items oi information, all of which are both useful and necessary to those having any business to transact, The present issue shows a great improvement upon the previous editions, ©very name throughout the provincial district being brought into one alphabetical list, This greatly facilitates reference. The Directory, having been printed in the Colony, is well up to date. The latter portion, entitled "The New Zealand Annual," contains, besides the calendar, and astronomical information, considerable other useful knowledge, which every colonist should possess in some degree, The book is very lyell got up in every, way, and its appearance indicates that it is a firstclass work which will bear every criticism and command a ready sale on its undoubted merits. The firm's representative, Mr J. If. Wilson, is now in Masterton, attending to the delivery of the present issue, ma is to be found at the Club Hotel,' That portion of this excellent and intelligently-compiled Directory which refers toMa&tertonarid the Wairarapa deserves a word or two of special mention. As regards its local information it is acourajej ■ complete, and comprehensive, and will be distinctly of service'to every' business man, Perhaps the best tribute we can pay Stones' Directory is to say that it is the one we ourselves most frequently, use whether for local or for general reference purposes, and we have found it always reliable and never wanting inwbat can fairly be expected of it.
