A well-dressed young woman, name unknown, gave birth to a child on the doorstep of a boardinghouße kept by a woman named Redpnth, at Adelaide. She was on the way to the house of a nurse frppi wh,om sho had taken a room, but being ill, she went to A'odnath's for shelter, The woman Eedpath refused to take her in, whereupon the young mother asked her to brine; Mrs Kiaebe, the midwife whom she was going to, and who lived near, but Redpath declined to do so. The unfortunate woman picked up her infant from the ground, and wrapping it in her shawl, managed to struggje tp the House of the nurse, whore shops admitted. At first it was feared that neither would live,' but they are now on the road towards recovery.
