A meeting of tho Gas Committee of the Masterton Borough Council was held last night, there being present Crs. Feist (in tho chair), T. Dixon, \V. Perry and tho Mayor. The only business was the presentation of the gas manager's report, which was approved as read,
Mr Joseph Reardou, stoker at the Masterton Gas Works, has been con» fined to his bed for the last three weeks, and is still unable to get about, Work at the new gas holder has been temporarily suspended owing to bad weather, There is no immediate hurry with the workjust now, as the push of gas making is over for this winter. The Library Committeo last night a lot of new books and decided to let Mrs Reilly keep those she considered suitable, the balanco to be returned, The extra vigilance of Inspector Ingram has caused dog owners to come up in large numbers and Mr It.
