How the Passengers Escaped. [UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION,] London, July i, Jt is expected that the Inman Liner City of Chicago will be floated off the Head of Kinsale to-day. It was through the coolness displayed by Captain Redfern that the passengers on board the 8.8, City of Chicago were saved, A panic occurred among the passengers after the vessel struck, and the Captain ordered the life boats to be launched, and in them 200 persons were landed, The cliffs were scaled in tho darkness by means of a rope ladder, Mr Matthew Davies, ex-Speaker of the Victorian Legialative Assembly, has reached London. He was a passinger by the City of Chicago, which went ashore on the Head of Kinsale, and he lost everything.
