TARATAHI-CARTERTON ROAD BOARD.
The ordinary monthly ineetingof the Taratabi-Carterton Koad. Board was held on Saturday. Present—Messrs E, W. Dorset, G. W. Deller, J. Rayner, W. B. Allen, E. Morgan, Jas. Stevens and Wm. Miller. Mr Morgan waa voted to the chair. The minutes of the previous meeting wera read and confirmed. The Treasurer reported the bank overdraft at £658 Oa 2d. The Clerk reported that all the Wards were in arrears. 4 fejtfr from Mr J. Blotnquist, complaining'about' ihg water being blocked back on his land through a culvert having broken through, was left in the hands of the Warden. Mr Burgess asked for an extension of time to complete his contract. It was rgsojycd that he be requested to 4eW the work till fhe Qptober' next, ' " I The Agricultural department wrote ro ikssmM birds nuisance, with the Act relating thereto, requesting thst tbe local authorities take action ia the matter. It was resolved that the papers be laid on the table. A report from the Overseer of Eoada was read relative to the works ia process on the Gladstone road. Mr Dawson waited on the Board and of plumed matters in respect to the completion of the Kokatau bridge. It was moved by mV Miller and seconded by Mr Deller, that the contractor be allowed three weeks longer to complete the contract. On the motion of Mr Deller, seconded by Mr dfevens, the tender of JJsmspQpfiijjspp s j £qo was accepted fpr eighteen chains formula ppiverts on Sinter's road, to be complotei by tho Jat of October nest, fenders for thrco bridges were received. It wtia resolvci thai the accepting of tho tenders for tbe trio* ges be doforrcd for a fortnight. It was resolved that tho opening of the road past Mr Vermeil's at Wainuioru bo left in the bunds of the Wardens, ska a mattor of a culvert at Mp Strang's. _ Mr Htwqw m&s granted fvtmksjoa to get fOms I'epdra .doae to Watfrson's l[no.
