ENTERTAINMENT AT GREYTOWN.
Presbyterian Chuich,
The fourth of a Beries of fortnightly concerts, in aid of the Greytown Presbyterian Church Building fund, was held in the Foresters' Hall last even-, ing, As usual on these occasions the Hall was well filled. The Greytown Private Brass Band played several selections in front of tho Hall. Mr R. U. Black occupied the chair. The programme was considerably altered on account of a number of intending performers being indisposed. Their places, however, were-filled by able substitutes. All the items wore carried out in a very satisfactory manner, reflecting great credit not only upon those taking part but also upon the management, Several ladies kindly came from Carterton to assist, The following was (he programme:—Piano overture, Miss May Thompson; Song, I "Will o' the Wisp," Mr Black; humorous glee "Call John," Mardames D. J, Duff and H. Hawke, Miss A. Nation and Messrs D. J. Duff and H. Hawke 1 (encored); reading, Mr Hillier; song, Miss Sheen (pneored); snng, " Out on j the Deep," Mr G. Flux; song, " Rothesay Bay," Miss Monorief (encored) ; song, " Shells of the Ocean," MrsJJudaon; song, "Morja," Mr M.R, Varnham; song," In the Gloaming," Miss Foss; song, " Margarita," Mr T. Rowse (encored); song, "Angels ever Bright and Fair," Miss Sheen; sung, "Tho Village Blacksmith," Mr Black; song, "Low at Thy Feet," Miss Maxton; two Jubilee hymns, " Golden Slippers," and "Wide River," Mesdames Duff and H. Hawke, Mieses Baillie and A. Nation, and Messrs Duff and H. Hawke.. The programme concluded with a verso of the "National Anthem."
