[BY TEIEQKAPH,—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Tuesday, It is not now intended to splice the broken ends of the cable, but to run a new cable from the br:ak at Whites Bay, The work of piying out this cable has been going on smoothly and was expected to be finished to-night, but this morning a southerly gale sprung up when the Terranora had the end of the cablealniost ashore, and had to return to the shelter of Woraer Bay, Another two hours would hare sufficed to lurid the cable. The operation will be resumed when the weather clears.
