(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Dunedin, June 28, At the public meeting called by the New Zealand Allianco resolutions were adopted to tbe effect (1) that the licensed victuallers had no claim for compensation ior non-renewal of their licensee; (2) that this meeting strongly protests HgHinst tbe Proclamation of a licensing district in tbe King Country, and affirms that to create facilities for obtaining intoxicating liquors in tbe Native district would be a national crime, and urges Government to revoke tbe Proclamation; (8) thut tbe mode of choosing a licensing commiitee by election is preferable to tbe nominated system, that the power of direct veto at tbe ballot box should be given by'this session of Parliament, all adult residents to have the right to vote, Captain Jackson Barry con-, tended that there was necessity for a good accommodation house in the King Country.
