, [ByDiobenes] " i Greytown Rivals v. Red Stars, The senior eup niatok between the above teams, played at Canetton on Saturday, was a very hollow affair, in consequence of the Stars not getting their ; team : together. "The fifteen chosen by the Matoh Committee was a&ly strong one, and a'yeryjriter* esiing match was anticipated.' The abtiori 01-tli'e'absentee'siin riot turning up, or sending word before the day of the' 1 match, w&'strongly condemned;' and is exceedingly dishearteniug to the more business-like members of the team. Ten men only left Masierton,,and with tbe, help ( of, au ad< ditibhal Maori 'played the 'strongest fifteen the Rivals place in the field. Soon , after Hudson .'got" flattened out" ' and retired, and/the Stars seemed to lose heart, arid let their opponents ' soore as they ■liked. Thirty-seven ' points sounds very, heavy, but was ' not the result of any 1 good play, and ] with a full team against them the re- , eult would have been far different, ' The scores of the winners were ob- ; tained by Udy, Banmber, Eagle, » McKenzle, Tyler, and Moore, from | several tries goals being kicked, in all . bringing the score up. to 37 to six.

Thb 1 -Masterton .men.were, far/ too heavy for their opponents, and had everything their own way. Tries wore obtained- for; the. Towards' the end of the game the Stars rallied a/little and took the play into their opponents territory, where." a mark was obtained by.T.. Wrigley from whioh a neat goal was placed by Enimett. Mr O,A. Pownall officiated as referee and. Messrs E, Holmwood and T, Hawke as line umpires,
