Annual Sitting,
The annual meeting of the Alfredton Licensing Bench was held in the Road Board office, Eketahuun, at noon yesterday: (Wednesday), all the Committee, being present, .. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed,
POLICE REPORT, Constable Roche reported having made the usual annual inspection of the hotels in the district aud reported favourably in every case. He stated that drunkenness was decreasing in the district. There had been only two arrests for drunkenness since the beginning of the year. ; -, ; . RENEWALS. The- following renewals were granted:—John Anderson, buna'>Hotel<: Daniel Edward Tdohill, Universal- Hotel; Frank Deering Felling, Club Hotel; Charles Stewart, Hawera Hotol; 8. M. George, Accomodation License, Alfredtori.
The application of Edward Eliiston of the Railway Hotel was held over for: a fortnight at his o.vn request, pending an investigation 'into certain informal charges made by the Chairman, ~ .' ' , BUNDAYTBADINB, It was the unanimous decision of the committee to put down Sunday trading rand each applicant was cautioned against doing Sunday business.
