FATAL ÀCCIDENT IN WELLINGTON.

A Boy Run Over, . As the Bt, Patrick's College boya were marching through Courtenay Pluce yesterday afternoon about two o'clock, with the band playing, a tramcar pussed along, and when near Dr. Pollen's residenco the driver-a man named Charles Gray—minced a boy on !he rails in front of the horses, He immediately called to him to get out of the way, but owing to the noise made by the band the youngster did notliearhim for some time. When at Just ho heard the cry of the driver he appeared to bo dazed, and before h■' could get out of the way the off hor/e had knocked him down and trampled on hire. Thn car was at once stopped, when it was found that the poor boy waß lying under one of the wheels on the off side. The passengers on the car immediately pushed it back off the injured lad, who was at once taken into Dr Pollen's, but as he was not at home the boy was despatched with all baste to the Hospital. Here he received every care and attention, but his injuries were of so severe a character that he died about two .hours after admission, The deceased, whose name was William Barneti, was between 12 and IS years of age, jaud lived with his mother in Tasmanstreet.—N.Z.
