In the Masterton B,M, Court this morning, before Colonel Roberts, E.M., Hami Potangaroa, Renata Te Iriwhare, Eterina Henare, Tevina Matutaere and Horiana Perahaura, wofMataikunn,East Coast, were Cnarged with that they did, with certain other Natives to' the number of twenty or more, on March 28th, 1892, unlawfully, violently, forcibly aud injuriously, with force and arms enter and take possession of the building occupied by Hipera Patiwai, keeping the latter out. Mr Lewis, ot Waipawa, instructed by Mr Pownall, appeared for the prosecution, and Mr Beard for the acoused, • Mr W. loms acted as interpreter. Hipera Patiwui, on oath, deposed that she was a part owner of the Mntaiku'na Block. She was living in a housa on- the property with oertain other natives, On the 27th March she received a notice from Hami Potangaroa, and other natives requiring her to leave the house. She did not do so, but told the person who wrote the note to go to Aohonga. On the evening of the 28th March she went to her house and found it filledwith Uktives, including the defendants, raiehad just arrived at the gate when Hami Potangaroa stood up, and told her Bhe was to go, with her goods.and her sheep and everything, She replied that she would not. Hami said, "The word from the tribe is'go,'" Horiama Perahuma then got up and told her to go inside and gct'ber things'and go. She again replied that she would not go.
