Sir,—From your last report of the County Council meeting it might appear to outsiders tbat tho Eketahuna Road Board had been making impertinent remarks, I wish; to point out that the County is about to supervise some metalling, which will be paid for by the Eketahuna'Road Board, aud the Board, was anxious that good metal, which is available, should be used for the. same,'and not similar metal lo what was used on a just completed contract in the Eketahuna Road Board District, and which two of tho Board members consider contains over 25% of dirt. Hence a memo, was sent to the County, in reply to which they advise members of the Board to mind their own business. This, I take it, was exactly what they were trying to do/ namely, to see the ratepayers' money spent to the best advantage. I um, etc., ■■/:•■■■ Wm, B.Matheson," Eketahuna,' 20th May. '
