[By Diogenes,] A very good practice was held by the Red Stars on the Masterton Park Oval on Saturday last, It is expected that the Bed Star and Masterton Clubs will.be tho only teams competing for the Senior Cup in the Wairarapa this season. The Greytown Club should certainly also enter. & The following team, wliioh ia a stroug one, will represent the second fifteen of the Red Stars in their match. with the Greytowu first 8t Greytown on Saturday next:—H. The Wellington Rugby Union has decided to abandon Newtown Park partly on account of its rough state and partly because an admission cannot be charged. All Cup matches will bo played on the Agricultural Associa tion's new ground at Petone it it can b secured,
A'match was playod at Graytown on Saturday,last between tho Volunteer Fire Brigade Club and the second team of Greytown, at the Recreation Reserve, resulting in a draw, Mr A, L, Webster aoted as referee and Messrs H, Duff and J. Maguire jun. as umpires.
»k The Mastertou Club's team returned its Southern tour to-day. The trip np was a very rough one, Most of the men bear murks of having had a severe struggle in the Alhambra matoh. Tho Alhambra forwards, they say, were altogether too good for them. The trip throughout has been a most. enjoyable one. Bannister, wlio sustained an injury lo his knee in the Merivale match, is to be removed to the Masterton Hospital.
The Ponekns (WetJinefcon) defeated Petone on Saturday by three points to nil, Potwie had the best of the game throughout.
