FIRE AT KURUPUNI.
A House Dostrcyoft. The funr-roomed house of Mr Joseph Tancher, situated at the nast end of Kunipuni Line, was 10 ally destroyed by firo at nine o'clock this (Saturday) morning, Mrs Taushcr was returning from milking, her husband biiinj away from homo, when she noticed smoke issuing from the roof of the building, On entering the hollas the discovered her bedroom to bo in flames. An alarm was sounded on the fiichi'lls in Mastorton, and the various Brigades were quickly at ,tho scene of the conflagration, The fire had, however, obtained such a hold of the. building that nothing could be done to save it. By the assistance of neighbours, furniture and clothing to the value of £lO was got out, The origin of the fire is a mystery, The stacks and outbuildings were saved by the efforts of the Brigades. The hiiuso was insured for £IOO, and the furniture for £SO in the South British Company.
