ROAD BOARDS.
AldtloBo&i Board. A meeting of the Board was held en Saturday last. Present.-Messrs Handyside (Chairman), Foreman, Liverton and Burling. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The Treasurer reported balance in Bank $8 Js lQd. The Chairman read the notice of mption standing iq his natqe, together with a letter fronj the County Qlerk, applying for a grant of 103 10s from the Board's funds to metal a portion of the Big Hill in the Oastlepointroad. After some discussion the Chairman withdrew the motion standing in his name by consent of the members present, as the Board could not see its way to comply with , the County Council's request. A letter was read from the County Clerk, requesting to know if the owners of property through which the roads would be talien that re. quired fo bfljegQlpJ had any claim for compensation, xMr Murray: wrote re transfer of Mataikuna property into the Castlepoint road district.fyie Clerk of Works advised the completion of No, 1 contract, Aohanga Valley Road.
