That the application of Mr Qeorge Wyeth bo referred to tha Works Committee with power to act, That the name of Mr E, J. Malcolm be placed on the Burgess List. That the communication from the Wairarapa North County Council witb reference to a home for the aged and destitute stand over for consideration till next meeting, NEW FOOTPATHS, A number of ratepayers in Church street wrote, requesting that a footpath be constructed and kerbedatthe lower end. 1 Mr J. L, Murray, who was present, ' stated that the whole of the owners of , property interested exoeptlng one had : offered to pay the cost of the work, Or Gapper said a resolution had ■ been passed by the Council that these I works'sbould be paid for before under* ' taken, The Mayor thought the Council \ should go a little out of its way to j provide for tjip convenience of rate- * payers. t Or Feist did pot (ihink it fair that they should require ratepayers to pay for the post of footpaths before they 9 were constructed. •• On the motion of Or Heron the » matter was referred to the Works " Committee with' power to act.
