night. The annual report showed . that the Association is in a. good position. .Mr Henry Overton was elected; President, (and Mr David-, Craig was re-elected Treasurer for the ensuing year.

The Committee of the Auckland Amateur Athletic Club entertained at afishing excursion the members of the., athletic team which is to represent ' the Colony in England. The team werejhe guests of Mr fl, jJrett to-day atfa garden party, which he gave at hie residence at Lake Takapuna. Peter Wood will not compete at the athletie meeting to-morrow, as he is Buffering from a cold, The other members of the team, howeevr, will run. The rain which has fallen has had a beneficial effect on the ground, as the track was hard.
