ROAD BOARD.
A special meeting of the Eketabuna Boad Board' was held on Saturday afternoon, Present—Mesara W, g. Matheson (Chairman), M, Nielson, T. Paisons, and F. Don sett. The meeting wag called to open tenders for work in the Hutt Sppcial Settlement Biook. The following tenders' were receivedMakakahi Road formaiioft, 11G chain?.—This contract was no t let 31 chains and bridge, and Hambrook, £IBB (accepted); W, Woolf, £225. 10 chains formation, 41 chains clearing and 60 ohains track,—Sbeebyn and Hambrook, £lB5 (accepted); W. Woolf,£l7llss. The.Board decided to call for tenders. for the following works on the Alfredton" Eoadß4 chains Casugriff's Hill, l'oad metalling, and 12 chains Mangaoneßoad, toward Eke-J jtah'una; also 2 chains metalling Colville's bridge,: and 14 chains VaU ky fW, •' '■
' As' the £4OO raised for the work in the Hatt Special Settlement Block was not sufficient to carry oat the works, it wag decided to accept the lowest tender subject to a favourable reply from the interested ratepayers towards raising a further loan of £SO by the next Board meeting.
