Those remaining, however, intend going in for plenty of practice, and a formidable team should result, Amatoh between tlio Masterton and Palmerston North Clubs will probably be played here on, Easter Monday. > ■ '' The Red Stars open the season oil Saturday with a scratch matoh on the Park Oval. The Stars should this year be able to put a team in the field which will be'hard to beat, The Masterton Club will probably make arrangements at once for sending a team to Ducedin about Easter time. t The Red Stars intend sending » team to Wellington in a few weeks to meet the Melrose Club; The Cup fixtures will in all probability be arranged at a meeting of the Union to be held early next month, The Orientals (a junior club) are this year amalgamating with the Red Stars, who will put three teams in the field, and probably nominate two fifteens for tho Junior Cup, It is on the tapis that Carterton this year will» wake up" in the football line. _ They have good players m that vicinity, and ib only wants an energetic man to re-organise the Club and make' tho players take an interest in it. I see no reason why they should not put a toam in tho field equal to any in the Wairarapa, *. 1 Greytown will this season be stronger than ever I With Syd. Nieholls at the head of affairs, tho Club is sure to improve, and will mako things interesting for their adversaries.
