EKETAHUNA ROAD BOARD.
■The tronthly meeting of the above m Board was held on Saturday last, the V members present being Messrs W. B. Matheson (chairman), A, Anderson, and F. Dowsett. The minutes ot the previous meeting were read and confirmed, COBRESPOHDESCB. From Wm'i Claridge, re thirds, Resolved that the Board would guarantee him £24 for the road asked assoon as it was gazetted. From Colonial Secretary, asking for copy of adjustments and divisions of loan for bridges. From County Clerk, re Toll gate. From Henry Longhurst, agreeing to give land for road deviation, Prom G. H. Scales, ro thirds in the Hutt S. S. Block—Resolved, that the thirds be allocated for bridging the Kokanui Creek and for formation ou the western side, and tor formation on the Waireata road, and that Mr Kinf, call for tenders for the above work and also for clearing on Brown and Macauby'a street and for felling tF«k on the south of tbe Waireka froad, tenders to close on March 26th, SPECIAL OBPEM, It was resolved that for ihe purpose of securing payment of the sum of £125 borrowed by the Board from the Government for the purpose of building on the Tawatai road, a special rate of 2 and 5-12ths of a penny be levied on all the following sections 28,24, block 111, and 768, block IV, in the Mangaone survey district, for the period of 26 years, and to be paid in two half yearly instalments on the Ist February and the Ist Augjst, till the amount is paid off, Also for securing payment of the sura of £4OO borrowed by the Board under the government Loans to Local Bodies Act for formation and bush feljing qn the ijfokaljatu Bond Ijfortli a special rate of 4sd in tho £ be levied on the following sections;— 7,8 a, 9,14 a, 15,16,17,18, 20, and 31, Block 11, Mangacne Survej District, tho same to be an annual recurring rate for 26 years, to bo repaid in two half yearly instal t meats on the Ist February and the Jsfc August.
