MEETING OF CREDITORS.

Estate of David Hoggio. . A meeting of creditors in the estate of David Heggie, carrier, bankrupt, was held in (he old Courthouse, Masterton, yesterday ; afternoon, four creditors being present, Mr W, B. Chennells (Official Assignee) presided. Mr W, G, Beard appeared on behalt of certain oreditorsand Mr 0, A, Pownallfor the debtor.

The Official Assignee stated that the assets in the estate amounted to £BO and the liabilities to £123 12s Kkl, leaving a deficiency of £9312s lOd, There was one creditor socured for £IOO in a section of land valued at that amount. Ho books bad been kept by the bankrupt, David Heggie, examined by Mr Beard, said the statement filed by him was correct as fur as he knew. Ue got his information from the accounts he kept, His books debts were mostly contra accounts, and were taken from a Bmall memorandum book kept by him, Thero ware no monies owing to him that ho was aware of, excepting those shown in the account, He was renting a brake and horse from Mr Allen, the registered deed of which was made out in August last, Tho brake and three sets of harness had been sold by him to Mr Allen in August last for about £4O. He could not say the value of the articles, He received the money in cash, with which he paid his debts, He oou|d not say to whom he paid the mopey. goiflfi pf jt had been paid to Pr. Mr Pownall: It would be useless, as Bone is supposed to have left the Colony and gone to San Francisco, The further examination ol the bankrupt was at this stage adjourned till3o'o]ock on Monday, next. .
