INQUEST.
An inquest was held in the B.M, Court House, Grey town, last night, ou the body of Thomas Owen Wood, a 12 monthaoldfion of Mi' James Wood ofTauranganui, Lower Valley, before Mr R, A. Wakelin, J,P., and a jury of six. Mr R. T, Shearer was chosen foreroah, After viewing tie body, the father was called into the witness , box, and stated that he noticed the A child was poorly on Saturday last, and W he and his wife wero bringing him s J into Greytolvn for medical advice on Sunday, but when he reached Tuhitarata (about six miles from his home) he found that the child had expired. He brought him on to Greytown where Dr Bey examined him. Dr Bey was next called. He deposed that he had made a post mortem examination, and found-, the child's lungs were imperfectly developed and congested. The heart m covered, which presen ted appearances of recent inflammation. He attributed the cause of death to pericarditis, - ' A verdict was returned in accor--dance with the medical ■ testimony, "That the child died on the Htb February from natural cause?,"
