AN UNDUTIFUL BON, A young man named John William Dew was charged with failing to sup. port liis mother, who is a destitute person, The respondent stated that he was quite willing that an order should be made against Lira, Colonel Roberta: You promised in Carterton to tinpport your mother, How is it yoa have not done so ? Tho respondent: I have been bushfalling and have bad nothing for four or lire months. I hare not been able to pay. Colonel Roberts: I will make an order that yon contribute the sum of four shillings a week. The respondent: And what about the old man ? Colonel Roberts: He is now contributing. The respondent: I am willing to do my share so long as the rest do theirs, ANOTHER DESTITUTE, wfacob Johnston was charged with failing to support his mother, Sarah Johnston, who was alleged to be a destitute persou, The respondent stated that he had aiwajß assisted his mother as far aB possible. He was a married man with a family of three and could not contribute five shillings a week. He was working for MrHercock, butoher, of Carterton, Mary Johnston, the petitioner, stated that aho was 8 sister of the respondent, Her mother was solely dependant upon her two sons for sup* port. The Bench made an order for the payment of four shillings a week,
