WAIRARAPA HUNT CLUB.

Mooting of Gonoral Oommitt-eo. A meeting of the General Committee of the Wairarapa Hunt Club was held at. the Marquis of Normanby Hotel, Carterton, on. Saturday .after« noon. There iwaa a good attendance, and the Master, Mr W. E, Bidwill, occupied the chair,

After considerable discussion it was decided that the offer of the Uniied Hunt Olub to take the' hounds be accepted on the following terms:— That the hounds previously offered •belonging to the Wairarapa Hunt Olub bo sold to the United Hunt Club for £25 on the following conditions: Thatthe United Hunt Club's Huntsman, whip,horses and hourids.be landed at any railway station in the Wairarapa required,' free of all cost both ways to and from Welling" ton, for the sum of; £Bl on six separate occasions for holding seven meets; viz,, six separate and one consecutivo hunt; or, in other words, at the rate ot £l2 per meet, The price of the hounds,' £25, to go aB part payment of the several meets. Two of the seven meets to'be on Saturdays. Any further hunts this season to be on the'same scale. The Wairarapa Club to pay all, and every expense incurred by the Huntsman, whip, hounds and horses immediately they land ata»y station in the Wairarapa. This • arrangement to hold good for such time, as- the Wairarapa Hunt Club may require the hounds, providing always the .hounds are in the possession of the United Olub or any other Club formed from it. That the Wairarapa Hunt Club obtain the full benefit of any future concessions made in the' charges for carrying hounds and men to and from Wellington,'

It was decided the first meet should be held at Featherston,on a Saturday; second at Masterton, on a Saturday; third at Greytown; fourth at Carterton ; fifth.at Gladstone; sixth at Maryborough ; and seventh at Masterton. The Carterton and Gladstone meets lb be on consecutive days. The Master and Secretary were appointed to fix dates, Mr C. F. Vallance -was appointed Depaty Master.'. , On the. motion of Mr A. M,'-Wil-kinson it was-resolved to hold a steepleohase meeting on the Tauherenikau course, the stakes nottoexceed £250. The Master.and Secretary, and Messrs N, Grace, W, McKenzie, and T, Bay were appointed to draw up a programme and submit to a meeting to be held in about four weeks, The date of the steeplechase meeting was left open, but it was understood that it should be held about a week after the Wellington meeting, which takes place in June,
