Annual Ram Pair, The annual ram fair in connection with the Masterton Agricultural and Pastoral Association was commenced in the yards of Messrs Lowes & lorns, RenalNSt, yesterday, The weather was fine, and there was a large attendance of buyers from all parts of the district. The only class of sheep offered were Lincolns, and of these about 450 were sold in separate lots, the auctioneer being Mr W. Lowes. The fair, both as regards the quantity and quality of the young sheep, was the most successful ever held since the establishment of the Society, and it is not, thereforo, to be wondered at that the bidding was brisk add the prices realised good. The sheep entered by Messrs Collins (Kaikoura), Perry Bros (Taratahi), Watt (Wanganui), Stuckey and Meredith were of really first-rate quality, leaving nothing to be desired by breeders, The sheep represented by other vendors were also of good quality. The officers of the Association, and particularly the President and Secretary, worked hard during the day, and the sale was conducted in a systematic manner. The principal vendor was Mr Watt, of Wanganui, whose one hundred and fifty sheep realised from three to five and threequarter guineas. Mr J. Collins, of Kaikoura, obtained from tour to seven and three-quarter guineas for his entries of stud rams, whilst Mr E. MereditL disposed of a lot of thirteen at from three to six and three-quarter guineas, Messrs Perry Bros, offered thirty lots, the prices ranging from three and a half to thirteen guineas, the latter sum biing paid by Mr Cock-burn-Hood for a splendid stud ram. The sixty lots offered by Mr Ja«. Btuckoy fetched froui two to five guineas, whilst; the of Mr Burnett, Wanganui, ranged from two to two and a half guineas, and some smaller pens belonging to Mr D.
