The weather is the,same as everpretty well mixed, and a. large amount ofgraas seed haa been lost owing to this. There is not rauoh prospect of any good bums as yet, v There seems to be plenty of work for those who are willing to do it. - . A gross case of llltreating a child is causing a considerable amount of comment just now, It appears that the 80-called guardian of this child is in the habit of beating him in the most brutal manner without any reason whatever, Only tG-day he repeatedly struck the unfortunate boy because he was unable to carry a sack of gcaes seed a long distance without putting it down to rest. It is high time that the matter was seen into, and the police informed of it.
