As Friday draws near the interest in the election thickens, and test promises to be as keen as any ever seen here. Mr McLean held the last of his meetings at the Opera House last night, the Premier and the Hon, Mr Keeves speaking as well as himself. Ho addresses a mass meeting on the claimed land to-morrow night for which great preparations are being made. Mr Bell addresses two meetings to-night. Gigantic Committee meetings of both candidates aro being held pretty well every evening, to clear tho decks and get everything in fighting trim. Both sides profess the utmost confidence iJSae result.
