SUDDEN DEATH.

A somewhat sudden death occurred m Masterton about one o'clock this afternoon, Mr Thomas Redding, who has been engaged for some time as a general hand by Mr Thomas Thompson, was some'weeks ago the victim of a severe attack oi la grippe. He had hardly recovered when he resumed work, but has since felt very weak, The deceased yesterday suffered excruciating abdominal pains, and was treated at theJbtel as far as possible. Dr Hoskin *as this morning sent for and orderevche removal of the unfortunate fellow to the hospital, The deceased was walkin? about the yard at twelve o'clock, but shortly afterwards went to bed and before the conveyance arrived to take him to the hospital, he wae dead. The cauße of death was inflammation of the bowels following an attack of la grippe. Tho funeral of the deceased, who was 89 years of age, takes place to-morrow. '
