Customs Duty. Wellington, Tuesday. The amount of the customs duty collected last month through the colony was 4181,377 8s lOd, as against i 117,569 14s 9d for the pivtioub month and £131,73418 a lOd for tho corresponding month of 1890. The amounts received at the principal pons last month were:—Auckland, £26,676 17s Id; Wellington, £26,814 3s lOdj Cbrißtchnreb, £20,776 16s W.; Dunedin, £82,801 3s 3d. The \y ibr the nine months of the %mit\ year is £1,178,48419s 4d, being £27,234 19s 4d in excess of tho Colonial Treasurer's estimate, whiob, for that period, wan £1,151,250. The beer duty collected last month amounted to £6,95019s 4d, Auckhnd contributing £1,583 3s lid; Wellington, £796 15s7d; Christchurch, £1,030 3s Id, Dunedin, £1,54114s 4d. The returns for the preceding month were £4,989 5s gd, and for tho corresponding month of the previous year £7,822 4a Bd. The Treasurer's estimate for the nine • months of the financial year was £45,000, but only £42,128 12s has been collected daring that period, leaving a defi> oiency of £2,871 7«.
