MASTERTON ROAD BOARD.
An adjourned ordinary meeting of the Masterton Boad Board was held yesterday (Wednesday), their being present Messrs W. H. Beetham (chauv man), McLeod, McKenzie and Wardell; •Correspondence outwards and inwards was read and dealt with. An offer of Mr Kelly, to do some ] road repairs for the sum ot £3, was « referred to the ilngineer. I Mr B. Cade requested the Board to < make the Ouaki-Rangitumau Boad | passable at the Buamahuuga river ( was resolved that the Board do not feel justified in sending a man to do two hours'work in re- , insignificant a defect, but that the matter will be attended to when there is a man working in the vicinity. ' The Engineer was instructed to report on the extent and cost of the metalling tpfed for by Mr Welch. ] An offer from Mr Coe to lease the gravel reserve on Dorset's road was accepted. / The report of the Finance Committee was read and accounts passed for payment. The Engineer's report was also read and adopted. It was resolved that Messrs Blane and M'Kenzie's tender be accepted for " embankment, culvert, and track - widening on Dorset's road. The resignation of Mr M'Leod as a . member of the Board was received ] with regret, and the Clerk instructed < to take steps to fill the vacancy. t The meeting then'adjourned. <
