A POLITICAL ASSOCIATION.

A large meeting of representative settlers waß held yestorday, when it was resolved to form an association to be called the Bangitikei Political Association. The.objectß as stated in the resolution are to promote economy - and honesty in administration, to support an equitable system of taxation, tb oppose the renewal of th* » extravagant public works borrowing policy, to uphold freehold tenure as against; the nationalisation of l»nd, and to obtain the dual electoral vote,' i.e., that every ratepsyer have a' vote in addition to his residential vote. It was resold to affiliate with similar associatiodrchronghout the Colony. , A strong committee was formed. The meeting was addressed by Mr J. W. Marshall, County Chairman, Mr McArthur, M.H.R, Mr A. Miloe, and the Hon. John Bryce.
