ENGLISH London, December 16. Messrs. James Dowie & Co. and Messrs. Gracie, Beazley & Co, of Liverpool, propose to build several steamers for the purpose of shortly establishing a monthly steam seivice between Liverpool and Glasgow and Australasian ports. They hope to divert a portion of the wool trade from the colonies to Livarpool. December 17. Mr David Gray, of Peterhead, who was recently endeavouring to form a syndicate to develop whaling in the Antarctic Ocean, is willing to assist ia despatching a joint scientific and commercial expedition to the same waters. The Italian faster, Succi, has begun a 52 days' fast at the Aquarium. FOREIGN. Paris, December 17. The steamer Prince Soltykoff, of 894 tons, has been wrecked off Brest. Eighteen of those on board perished. Messrs Lowes & lorns add to their stock sale for Wednesday, Deo. 30th, 50 fattheep and 50 ewes *nd lambs. I
