LAND BOARD.
The ordinary monthly meeting of the Wellington Land Board was held at the Board's offices, Provincial Buildings, on Thursday, when there were present—Messrs J. 11. Baker (Commissioner) in the chair, D. H. Macarthur, M.H.R., W. W. McCardle, W. A. Fitzherbert, and A. W. Hogg, M.H.R. Applications to obtain titles were dealt with as under—G. Woodloy, Mangahao ; D. Walsh, Mangahao ; C. Cody, Mangahao—all granted ;A. Bulling, Mangahao, left in hands of Commissioner ; Singleton and lgoe, Makuri, granted, provided a sworn declaration is made stating conditions have been complied with ;T. Power, Kopuaran°a, dealt with same as last; J. Johnson, Omahiui, same as last; W. Morrison, Mangahao, refused, the conditions not having been complied with; Mr Harlestone, Mangahao, refused until all improvements are effected.
Applications for transfers were dealt with as under:—R. Kean and K. Dawson, Kopuaranga, to R. Kean, granted ; M. A. Barron, Mangahao, to J. Barron; J. Smith, Tarama, refused; H. B. Vile, Mangahao, to J. Vile, granted. Applications to capitalise were granted in the following cases in the Mangahao Block :—C. Woodley, J. Harding, J. Corkill and F. King.
It was decided to issue declarations for selectors for land under the Farm Homestead Association regulations to execute, and to offer section 64, Block XIV., Manstaone, for lease for a term of 14 years at an upset rental of 8s per acre. The proposal of the Mauriceville Road Board for the expenditure.of thirds were approved. It was resolved to rescind the cancellation of Mr G. Walthers' i»torest in section 77, Block XVIIL, Mangahao, Mr Walthers having given a satisfactory explanation to the Board
regarding bis compliance with the residential clauses. The Commissioner submitted a schedule of selectors in arrear with tbeir improvements, and" it was decided to forfeit the interest of A. Cooke, of Mangahao, and take the usual uction in the other ciM|a. Mr G. B. Eichardson waited on the Board and explained that the improvements had been effected on his motion at Makuri. It was resolved to refer Hanger's report back to Banger' It was decide! to reoommond the government to remit the payment of rent and interest in the cases of H. J, Wakeford and W. Barlow, Mangahao.
