TASMANIAN SILVER FIELD.

Tasmanian files up to date continue to bring the very best news of the silver mines. To a person who has invested wisely in these mines, the perusal of the laet ten days papers is comfort indeed. The astonishingly rich assay of 7661 ozs to the ton in the Sylvester mine is not an isolated case. Veins, although narrow, containing this, run right through the entire lode material. One piece of silver chloride obtained, measured 2J x J inch. The Queen continues to make wonderful developments, haying got a new lode of 2Jft wide, averaging 200 ozs to the ton. £2500 worth of ore was put out last month. The Western mine goes on steadily putting out ore to be smelted, and all this from the tunnels and drives without any stopping. This is indeed a Bplendid mine. The share market is actually beginning to revive, and it is pleasing to note that the ships are beginning to carry away bags of siherfrom more than a tew mines. Mt Birkof tin mine continues as for years past to pay its enormous dividends, and the Tasmanian and New Pinafore gold mines are doing consistently good work. For 6 months past tbe New Pinafore have keen paying Is dividends, and its crusbings have been pretty well all as good as the one exainpled below, viz., November 4th 530 tons quartz produced from the boxes 10370z of amalgam, and from the plates and ripples, 1780, total 28170z.
