TARATAHI-CARTERTON ROAD BOARD.

The ordinary monthly meeting of theabove Board was held on Saturday. Present—Messrs E. W. Dorset (in the chair), F. Gray, A. Gallon, E. Morgan,- G. W. Deller, aud W. B. Allen.

The Treasurer reported the Bank credit account £2l 19s 3d. A statement of liabilities of each ward showed outstanding rates amounting to £172 19s 3d. CORRESPONDENCE INWABDS. From Colonial Treasury re special order made in respect to the Kokatau rating district; from the County Council, re removing the offices to the Carterton Borough offices, and asking that a Committee be appointed to confer on the matter; from Messrs Knott, asking permission to cut the grass ou the swamp road; from H. Wilson re the same matter. This matter was left in the baud of the Warden for No. 5 Ward. Messrs Dorset, Gray and Morgan were appointed a Committee to confar with the other bodies with regard to offices.

Only one tender was received for metalling 7 chains on Moffitt's road. After some discussion the matter was left in the hands of the Warden with power to act. Mr B. Sayers was allowed to cut the grass on the Daletield road. Some accounts were passed for payment. The Overseer was authorised to have some repairs done on Park road.

Mr Dorset was authorised to have the drain cleaned out on Somerset road.

It was re3olved that Mr Monaghan be requested to lengthen the culverts on che Main road between Clareville and Waingawa, and also that he be requested to rake the ruts and break the large stones, and Mr Morgan asked permission to have something done to the road at the junction ot Brooklyn and Hinaki roads, and also to have the gravel pit fenced.

The application was granted, the work to be itone under the supervision of the overseer.

Mr W. B. Allen was authorised to get a culvert repaired on Chester road. The meeting then terminated.
