Auckland, November 15. The societies of Auokland inteiraio establish a fund tor tho maintenance of sick members of those societies in the district hospital. To day was observed as a " Hospital Sunday." The societies, in regalia, marched in procession through the prinoipal streets to the City Hall, where' addresses were given by the Mayor, Sir G. Grey, Mr J. D. Connolly (American consul), and others, in support of the movement, and a collection was made on behalf of the fund. The demonstration w«b witnessed by laige crowds of people. Ship in Distress.
Port Chalmers, November 15. Arrived—Loudores Abbey, Captain Nelson, from Rangoon. She is bound for Talcahuana, but has put in in distress, having encountered a terrible gale on the sth inst., which washed everything moveable off the decks, earned away a boat, flooded the cabin, washing off the largest hatch and the tarpaulin off -the main, hatch, vessel being on her beam ends jettisoned 500 bags rice and 22 bales guineas.
