Whakataki-Tenui Rifle Club.

The half-yearly p. ize firing was held on Saturday hst qt both ranges. Owing to its being shearing lime many members were unable to attend, and ihe firing for Mr Handysidc's trophy was postponed until next meeting. Twenty-three competitors entered for the various events, and considering it was the first time the new rifles were used, some very good shooting was made. Mr A. McHu'.chon wao elected captain of the Whakataki squad, and Mr J. Groves, junr, captain of the Tenni squad. The ranges were 200, 300, and 500 yards, sev.jn shots at each range. C. Cameron won Mr Dougall's trophy, and got a leg in tor J. Nathan & Co's trophy ; J. Cameron won Mr Hancock's trophy. The fallowing were the ecores :
