CARTERTON. -TUESDAY,

(Before Col. Roberts, R.M.) RABBIT NUKAXCR.

Inspector Thomas Mackay v. John Ray. Mr Bunny for the informant. The accused pleaded not guilty, and stated that he had not received auy notice to desiroy the rabbits and also stated that he had in consequence of ill-health to relinquish the lease of the property as defined in the information.

Inspector Mackay proved the notice as sent to the accused on the 30th May lastJl The accused stated that he had not been on the properiy for 18 months, and the pioperty had been taken off his hands.

C. H. Gayfer proved to yisiting the property on the 30th September last and found the rabbits very numerous and saw no one on the place.

A fine of 20s and costs 7s was imposed, with witnesses' expenses los. The defendant asked for time to pay the amount and one month was granted. CIVIL CASES. Ridgway v. Wilson, an alleged illegal impounding case which was heard last Court day. Judgment was given for the defendant, with costs 8s witnesses expenses 8s solicitor's fee 21s.

Geo McGregor V; Donald MacLaren. Mr Acheson for plaintiff Mr Beard for the defendant. Claim £lO 10s for wages due. Judgment for plaintiff for £2 15s, which amount was paid into court, with costs 58s, and witnesses expenses 255. F.MeenkenvT. A. Weston.—Claim £ls, being the value of a horse given to the defendant to break in. Mr Beard for plaintiff, Mr Acheson for the defendant.

Evidence was given at considerable length and the case was adjourned till next Court day.
