Heavy Rain at Westport.
Damage to tt« Boston Zacl}nt< West?»bt, October l#. The phenomenally heavy rain which fell this aftemopn in the neighbourhood of Wairuangaroa resulted in a landslip, which carried •way about 100 ft of the timber trestle work on the Denniston coal incline just above the bridge over the creek. The necessary repairs will occupy about ten days, as in addition to renewing the timber trestle work further possible landslips must be provided against.
