The o*ner of Master Agnes announces in the advertising columns of this journal for the third year in succession that the sob of Cassi vellaunus and Fair Agnes will stand this season at "White's Line, Carterton, Wairarapa, at toe fee of of sgs. Blaster Agnes' tabulated pedigree reads as under : His sire, Caflsivellaunus (who is now dead), only raced twice in England, and that was a two year old when he won both stakes he started for at Newmarket. In addition to Master Agnes, he has sired in this colony Envious, Jealousy, Billy, Moss Rose, Puritan and other good racers. Cassivellaunus' sire Caraotacus won the Derby at Kpsem in 1862, and his dam Campanile, is a daughter of the emperor of stallions, Stockwell. Fair Agnes, the dam of Master Agnes, 1b a I daughter of the imported hay Middleten horse St Aubyn, and is out of Phoebe, tho maternal ancestress of so many good horses ineluding Pinfire's dsm, Queen of tbe South, ParaWhenua's dam, Countess, Maca s dam, Raupo; Wolverine's dam, Tangi, aud Sinking Fund who ran a dead heat with Mafat for the Dunedia Cup of 1879. Phoobe was a damghtor of the King of Australian sires, Sir Heroule*. I Fair Agnes ia addition to Muster Agnes, has < thrown another good hurdle racer in Magnesia ! and a fairish sprinter in St Agnes, Rose A'Bonheur and her sons. Maror*, Chokebore, j and Badsworth, were all above the average on the Turf. As a two year old Master Agnes won the Spring Nursery Handicap at the C.J.C. Metropolitan Meeting and he followed this up by getting home in front of a field of five in the Two year old Handicap, but was disqualified en the ground of a cross. At the C.J.C. Autumn Meeting he ran third to Water Nymph and Sir Belvidere in the Champagne Stakes. TCRMS-Smgle Mares, £5 ss. Oroomage Fee, ss. Two or moie Mares as per agreement.
